Other Work
My creative journey began staying as far away from the written word as possible. If someone had told me during high school that I would be spending a lot of my time writing, I wouldn’t have believed you. Now in I find myself more invested in my writing more than ever. Writing at the moment takes a lot of my creative energy. But at heart i’m a creative not a writer which means I still do find time to take photos and engage in other mediums. Hopefully as I continue to build capacity in the creative space more things will pop up on this page. Here is a portfolio of some of my other work that I have worked on over the years.
I think it’s important to be proud of the things we create, I am proud of these creations.
Enjoy.
Art on the Landing. (2024)
This was a group exhibition I was part of, hosted at The Wellington Writers Studio. The work I showed was a collection of work labeled ‘Street View’ which focussed on location and the technique of stitching together different photographs.
S. Marys Mornington. (2024)
This collection of photos was taken on a cold Dunedin morning in the autumn of 2024. I revisited the church my dad used to be the vicar of when I was much younger than I am now. I was greeted by 8 people of the same people who were there 12 years ago. I tried to write about my experience but couldn’t say anything better than what these photos had to offer.
iPad Photography (2024)
These photos were taken out on the streets of Wellington using an iPad. This incredible tool offers a flat and large perspective to capture the streets. Inspired by your Grandad.
Cape Palliser (2023)
This collection of photos embodies the rugged and beautiful aspects of solitude and silence. These images were taken over a solo camping trip with the worst weather possible.
TOM-YUM (2023)
TOM-YUM is an appreciation for my favourite variety of my Favourite easy food, 2-minute noodles. This piece of art seems absurd, but is really a reflection of the reality of substance in the 21st century.
Bathroom. (2022)
Bathroom is a collection of work which was a school project which turned into an exhibition. These photos Aim to Answer the question: What does preparation look like, if you don’t know what you're preparing for?
Out of the Flying Pan (2022)
“Out of the Flying Pan” is an absurdist political comedy written by David Campton. Nathan King and I directed and performed this 20 minute play at various events and competitions throughout 2023. Notably winning the best youth production at Theatrefest Nationals 2023. We also had the privilege to perform this piece for the Nelson Arts festival in 2023.
